Forever Love – Darth Vader in Various Interpretations

Star War series is obviously the most popular sci-fi movies of all time. A whole generation grew up with it. For some reason, Darth Vader surpass all Jedi, including the mysterious cute little green master, seems to grasp the heart of the population. Numerous self-made variations around this evil figure have been flourishing in the past decade and there is no sign of getting dried out. The recent MV of ‘Galactic Empire State of Mind’ is yet another fresh example.

The MV is a spoof of Jay-Z and Alicia Key’s billboard popular rap ‘Empire State of Mind’, featuring a nightclub DJ type of Princess Leia and break dancing Stormtroopers, together with a trying-to b-danced clumsy version of our beloved Darth Vader. Check it out!

Vodpod videos no longer available.

One part of the reason I like it is because of Alicia Key’s music talent, the other part is of course, I never get tired of people making fun of Darth Vader. I think it’s the contrast that attracts me: a sacred-looking figure must be rather silly inside, he who possess the highest power and package it with the most ridiculous heavy dark metals can not be really swift in his movement, and the voice and his self-righteous speech… no wonder he is an endless inspiration. Let me share with you two other video here. They are my favorite stand-up on Darth Vader so far.

Note for those who don’t get the second one: it’s a Swedish comedian make a Darth Vader entrance into the local grocery store and order a local soda, then he imitate the sound of Vader and made a ridiculous interpretation of it, in the first three minutes.

Why don’t you tell us your favorite version?

Thanks for the upgrade. Was I right or not, Darth Vader’s voice is now available for downloading as your GPS instructor on TomTom, a Dutch navigation mfg. Check out their promo here, pretty cool:
